So you've made the decision to have bariatric surgery. Now, you wonder, will my insurance pay for this?
Chances are we do. The hospitals and surgeons with which we work accept most insurances, and are in network for most insurance. Medicare is accepted in some cases.
A note regarding in-network surgeons and hospitals: Using an in-network surgeon and hospital for your bariatric surgery can save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Qualified, successful, and experienced bariatric surgeons are available in most markets. Our surgeons will not charge you large upfront deposits to make up for your insurance. Your insurance will be billed and they will accept payment. Of course, you will be responsible for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance. If your surgeon wants you to pay them upfront, call us. We can save you time, money, and provide a surgical service and program that meets all Bariatric Center of Excellence criteria.
As part of the comprehensive service at Right Weigh-affiliated programs, surgeons and staff will complete the rigid medical necessity predetermination process with your insurance for you. We will follow your case - even to appeal if necessary - to ensure that you get the coverage you're entitled to.
Before surgery is scheduled, you will have a letter of medical necessity from your insurance carrier that acknowledges the medical necessity of your surgery and the benefits to which you are entitled.
We have helped thousands of patients get insurance approval for this surgery and are in regular contact with insurance companies in areas we serve.
